Thanksgiving Day - 1967

Thanksgiving off the DMZ -- It was my pleasure to carve the first trukey at the Thanksgiving day feast in the crew's mess.  Lieutenant Junior Grade Joseph Scarola, on my right, and Chief Commissaryman Luther Smith directed our top-notch Commissary Department in the preparation of the fine meal.

Thanksgiving Dinner in the Crew's Mess was a delightful experience.  At my table are some of our Commissary supervisors who did an exceptionally fine job in preparing feasts at sea for both Thanksgiving and Christmas.

The crew obviously enjoyed the Thanksgiving dinner... There was plenty of food and many men went back for seconds.
