  • Pick something that will help us recognize you.
  • Select a SHORT nickname with few letters, Long nicknames are so hard to type! 
  • Use your real name; Either first + Last Initial -or- Last Name; What ever we would recognize you by. 
  • Then, add a year that you served on the USS NN so we can se what time period you served
    .
      Examples of good Nick Names;
      Dex61, ChuckZ72, RoyJ48, Mitch48, Peden62 
Signing
On
When signing onto the MSN Chat room, you will get a messages that says "Please wait, connecting to server..." ; Normally it only takes a few seconds to connect, sometimes it takes many minutes to connect. Be patient. If you have not gotten an error message, it is still trying so don't kill the connection. If you do get an error message stating the chat room is not working, then go to our "Back up Chat room".

Yes, over the years, we have experienced many of the Chat room services we have signed up for are down sometime, or simply just go out of business. Below is our backup Chat room for evenings when the Main chat room is not working.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

Question  I went to the Chat room at 8:00 PM like they told me, but no one was there? Why?
Answer : When we say "8:00 PM", we are talking about Eastern Standard time, which may be different than what your time zone is. Below is a time zone chart to help. When the "Eastern Time" box hit's 8:00 PM is when the Sunday evening Chat room starts.

Question Is getting into the USS NN MSN chat room easy?
Answer : The answer is YES! 
AFTER you have taken care of registration, and have set your sign-on code to remember your password. Then a simple click on the above MSN Icon and your in. 

Question Hmmm, What if this is my first time into the USS NN Chat room and I don't even know what "Registration and setting your password?
Answer : If you are not already registered, then you need to register, and it is not a real simple thing to do. But, no harder than registering with Yahoo, EBAY, Excite, ICQ or any of those other Communities that we join.  You should try going into the Chat room the day before to go threw the registration process and get that out of your way. Plan on spending anywhere from 15 minutes to one hour going through the registration process depending on your Internet skills and registration experience level.  

Question :  What if I can't figure it out? How do I get help?
Answer : Dexter Goad is our Chat room caretaker.
