Steve Grubbs USS Newport News Model Pictures

Steve Grubbs, Fox Division, 1968 - 71 has built the "USS Des Moines Class Cruiser Model" that was sold by the USS Salem Museum group back in 1999 - 2000.  This is a Resin Kit, made by "Classic Warships". This is a lot of different than the "Plastic Models" we build as Kids.

Steve is an experienced Model Builder who has been at this hobby for over 20 years now and can build you a fine representation of the ship to match the years you served on her.

These pictures are of Steve's First USS Newport News Kit he put together. This is Steve's rendition of what he believes the Salem would have looked like had they been reactivated in the '80s. Salem and Des Moines for sure and maybe Newport News were but a pen stroke away from reactivation in 1986.
