Body:For investigative resources, (finding a long-lost shipmate, etc) try the following: www.allonesearch.com or www. jflax.com/inv.htm. Hmm, I may have to check on the last one, try it and let me know if it works for you.

Subject:Main Machinery Room 2 Plaque and video of ship
Body:Hello all,
I sent this out a little over a year ago, but since we have so many newmembers, I thought I'd try again. I'm trying to locate a picture of the plaque that used to hang above the hatch that led down into number 2 hole. If I remember correctly, it was a polished stainless steel plate with the words Main Machinery Room No. 2 (in brass) surrounding a brass prop I'd like to make a replica, but my memory is fading along with other stuff. Also was wondering if anyone has any video we could get a hold of. ? I remember 1 of the guys had filmed the 8 inchers firing. We could see the projectiles leaving the barrel and when we put the projector in reverse it was kind of neat watching it go back in. Would love to get some of this on tape and maybe computerize it. Might even be able to get clips on the web page.
Thanks,
Bob Lester BT-3 70-74

Subject:Looking for
Body: I would also like to hear news about Bob May. I served on board from 61-64 in the 3", 5" and Armory. Bob and I served in the Armory with GMG-3 Hanlon and GMCM McQueen. Left NN as a GMG2. The NN caused me to love the Navy so much that I stayed in and Retired in 1985. I served as a GMCS, CWO4 and LCDR. Love to hear from old shipmates. The Reunion was fantastic and I recommend that all hands attend the next one in Norfolk, 2001. John W. McMullen, LCDR (Surface Ordnance LDO), USN Retired.
