Doing Research for our USS Newport News Calendar.
USS Newport News Calendar
We are creating a "USS Newport News Calendar" to be available to all
shipmate from the ship's store.
This will be a wall hanging calendar. It will
have pictures of our ship on the Top Flap page.
The bottom flap page (Day / Date Section) we want to have any dates that are
important to the history of the USS Newport News marked on the calendar.
Do you have any dates you think should be added to this calendar?
If you know any dates that should be added to the list, please let me know by sending an email to ****
Below is a list of dates that we have collected so far. Dates that have the Red "??" are dates we can't use because we don't know what day of the month to put the event on. If you have any documentations that will let us know the exact dates of the below events, or have any new events to add, please let me know at ****
I want to thank everyone who has already sent in their ideas and information. Remember that the event, or the Day the event started, will be marked on the calendar in the "Day square" for that Month/Day. We need to know the DAY of the month for the event. Many of you have sent in information like, "We did this wonderful thing in early January of 1956", Or "I remember sometime in the summer of 1965 going to....". Without knowing what DAY of the month to put the even on, we can't use your great ideas. Also, don't go by memory. We are all a bunch of Old Sailors and our memories just isn't what it use to be. Please only provide documented dates.
Date collected so far.
