The reunion is only 2 weeks away!!
Everything is in place and we are ready to go!
he turnout this year is going to be enormous!
In the last newsletter (sent out on
04/15/2003), we reminded everyone that the registration closing
date of 04/15/03 has pasted, but we would take reservations for
one more week for those who have forgotten to send in their
Reunion Association registration and fees. When we sent out that
newsletter on the “Registration Closing Date”, we had 330
registered for the reunion. As of last week, (June 5th) we have
480 registered. That is 150 registrations AFTER the cut-off date
and more coming in every day.
WE CANNOT TAKE ANY MORE REGISTRATIONS!!
We are booked FULL. There are no more
hotel rooms at the Marriott to be had and no more room for more
people at the dinners!! IF you are still debating about
attending the reunion or not, please understand that it is too
late to register!! We will have to see you at the 2005 reunion
instead of this one.
Verification
of Registration
We want to make sure that everyone who thinks
they are registered are really registered. In a few days, there
will be a “Conformation Letter” sent to your mailing address
with your USS Newport News Reunion Conformation information in
it.
We want to take this time to try and catch any
one who thinks they have registered, but have not really
registered, or, for what ever reason, we don’t have their
Reunion Registration form and fees. We would like to avoid
someone flying out to the reunion and not have a place reserved
at the events for the reunion. We had a few people last week
think that just by registering for a Hotel room also registers
them for the Reunion.
The Hotel Reservation
and the USS NN Reunion registration are two separate
registrations.
Only those who have filled out the form they
received in the US Mail back in January (Or printed out the form
from our USS Newport News Reunion web site) and have mailed in
their registration form with their registration payment will be
allowed to participate in the activities on the USS Salem.
Sorry! We don’t want to exclude anyone, but we are simply
running out of room for everyone.
Below is a list of those who have registered
by mailing in their registration forms to the USS NN Reunion
Association. If you are going to the reunion, please make sure
your name is listed below. If your name is not there, then you
are either NOT REGISTERED, or your registration came in after
June 5th when this list was compiled.
If you planned on going to the reunion, but
you do not see your name listed below, then you fall into one of
the below groups.
- If you have not registered at the
Hotel, and you have NOT already sent in your Registration form
and Registration fees, then it’s too late. Cancel any airline
reservations you may have made.
- If you have already registered at the
Hotel, but have NOT sent in your Registration Form
and Registration fees, then it’s too late. You will need to
cancel your hotel reservation and your airline reservations.
- If you HAVE sent in your Registration
Form and Registration fees, but do not see your name
below, please contact Jim or Susan Peden by sending them an
email to
peden@uss-newport-news.com or calling them at (802)
897-2001. We will do our best to straighten things out, but
there really is no room for more for anyone, so it is possible
you will need to cancel your airline reservations.
(Exceptions: if you believe that your registration form
arrived after June 5th, then the reason your name is not
listed below is because we received your registration after
this list was created, so you are OK.)
